The Emporia-Greensville Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Professional Women’s Luncheon on Wednesday, April 24 at the Golden Leaf Commons.
The Chamber leaders recognize that every hard working woman likes to be acknowledged and shown appreciation for their positive contribution to the work place. This annual event gives employers an opportunity to acknowledge and show their appreciation to the professional women that help their businesses throughout the year.
“This is one of our signature events that I truly look forward too, EGCC Executive Director Nancy Rose said. “It’s good to see all the professional women come together to relax, and enjoy themselves.
One can clearly see that the Chamber takes pride in supporting their community businesses and administrative staff. There were hundreds of ladies and a handful of gentlemen who enjoyed the buffet lunch catered by Hermie Sadler’s restaurant Fo Sho. This years live entertainment was The Future Attraction Band. They had the ladies singing along while others were singing and dancing in their seats. There were raffle prizes, lots of give-a-ways and personal shopping opportunities through the Chamber members businesses as well as information on health and wellness options in the community. Some guest sipped on champagne as they enjoyed walking around conversing and shopping at vendor tables as well as gathering information about local businesses.
The women were full of laughter and smiles as they waited anxiously to see if they had one of the winning numbers for the numerous raffles and give-a-ways.
All attendees received a flamingo gift bag filled with goodies from the Chamber and its members. “I would like to thank all of our sponsors for hosting this years event. A thank you to our live entertainment, each employer for allowing their ladies to attend. And to our many vendors as well as all who attended and supported this event.” Said Rose. Fundraisers such as this one allows the Chamber to do many other things for the community and businesses.
