On Saturday, Aug. 10, the City of Emporia held a “Free to General Public” Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) 1st Time Homebuyer’s Education Course at the Emporia-Greensville Chamber of Commerce from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

 The course was attended by 18 individuals and 16 of those completed the entire course and received VHDA’s “Certificate of Completion” satisfying U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), VHDA, and many Federal Housing Administration (FHA) requirements of 8 hours of Homebuyer’s Education for 1st Time Homebuyer’s. 

 This is the first of many classes the City of Emporia will be sponsoring for homeownership.
