The Virginia Cooperative Extension Service Master Gardener course application deadline is Dec. 2.

The Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Volunteer training classes will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays starting in February and continue for 11 weeks ending in April.

Classes will be held at the Greensville/Emporia Extension office.  If you have a desire to learn and wish to educate the community about sustainable horticulture practices, including but not limited to, composting, vegetable gardening, landscape design, conservation, pruning, lawn care, consider becoming a Master Gardener volunteer.

Learn from our experienced instructors, participate in field trips and immerse yourself in classroom demonstrations.

You do not have to know anything about gardening. We’ll teach you all you need to know. The course fee includes the training manual and all materials. Please call, (434) 348-4223, or come by the Greensville/Emporia Extension office, located at 105 Oak St. Emporia. If you have questions about the program or wish to pick up an application packet. Applications must be completed and returned by Dec. 2.
