The 301 North Sidewalk Bid Results received approval at the Greensville County Board of Supervisors meeting and the project will move forward.

The original project budget for the 301 North Sidewalk Bid came to $564,100. The project came in over budget, so the County of Greensville Building and Planning Department applied for TAC funds from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). VDOT rescinded the funds because the project had not started yet.

Luckily, the Planning Department did not have to apply for the funds again, and VDOT gave them $214,812 in additional funds. Even with these additional funds the Planning Department needs to match 20%, so it needs an additional $53,703.

The total project budget comes to $832,615. $666,000 will be TAC funds and $166,000 will be for the local sheriff. The Planning Department already committed $112,000 in local funds to the project.

The project starts at Greensville Elementary School and ends at Crescent Road.

All the right of ways have been acquired and the engineering is done.

If the Planning Department receives $53,703 from the Greensville County Board of Supervisors it wants Brenda Parson to sign the new contract in agreement with VDOT to move forward with the project.

The project would start as soon as the contract is mobilized and signed.
