Hall Squire, M.D., joined the medical executive committee at Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center (SVRMC) in 2017. He is also a member of the board of trustees and chief of staff at SVRMC, where he works to strengthen the partnership of SVRMC and Emporia.
Squire believes all health care is local, and taking care of the community is as important as taking care of the patients that live there.
Squire’s commitment to the health and wellness of the Emporia community began long before he went to medical school; he grew up watching and admiring his father - a family medicine physician in Emporia for more than 60 years. He watched his father care for patients throughout their lives as they went through milestones and losses; he knew at a young age that he wanted to care for residents in his hometown the way his father did.
Squire earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and he completed his internship and residency at East Carolina University in Greensville, N.C..
He practices family medicine at Emporia Medical Associates in Emporia. As a family physician, Squire sees patients of all ages – from infants to seniors. He provides preventive and diagnostic care for both acute and chronic illnesses including wellness exams and physicals. He says the best part of his job is taking care of the community where he was born; the same hometown where he and his wife, Molly, raised their three sons, Peebles, Barker and Harry.
